rosey has found a home
Thank you to Wendy and her husband for opening their hearts to my girl. I know you are the best choice for her. I hope in a year or two, when we get a place of our own I might be able to have horses. That is of course, if we are still together (Dave and I) | | Saturday, November 5th, 2005 | | 11:36 pm |
My Heart is Broken
Rosey needs a new home. She needs someone where everyone in the family is crazy over her. My hubby is not a horse person, or an animal person period. He does not understand "the horse crazy thing" and due to this I am forced to find her a new home. I am willing to give her to the right home, but it has to be a GOOD HOME with references. time for an update
It has been too long since I have updated Roseys journal. I am getting ready to move her to another barn, Jubilee Stables. She will be cared for well, and hay and grain is included in my boarding fee, so that is awesome. I am super excited as the owner really knows her stuff, and was not turned off by the Standardbred part at all, in fact she boards the BIGGEST HORSE (also a Saddlebred) I have ever seen LOL. Rosey is getting very tall... and she is quite the pill! All I am sure from not being worked with every day, and I hope she will calm down a bit when I am working with her every couple of days. No recent photos.. I know.. shocking!! | | Sunday, September 4th, 2005 | | 5:49 pm |
big pasture now..
Rosey has a big pasture now, she loves it, she has been running around all afternoon! | | Saturday, September 3rd, 2005 | | 8:31 pm |
some recent photos - weight gain
Well, Rosey has gained some weight nicely. I would rather have her a bit on the heavy side before winter sets in. She loves being out in her pasture, but likes to go in at night for her grain. But when I go out in the morning she is READY to go outside again! Her rear left ankle has some odd swelling. I am guessing it is something to do with her fence accident.. wish I had more info on what had happened... hopefully it ends up not being serious.. I do not know what I will do if she goes lame on me.. :( Tomorrow I am HOPING to get to expand her pasture by a bit, though it might have to wait until next weekend... Ok, so here are some side by side weight shots.. | | Sunday, August 21st, 2005 | | 6:09 pm |
lalalala
Wow, writing this everyday all about Rosey what will the subjects be lol. Put Rosey in her pasture today, she tried to run through the electric fence, got the snot zapped out of her and now she is staying put LOL. Here is a picture I got of her today.. | | Saturday, August 20th, 2005 | | 5:54 pm |
She is here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rosey is finally finally here!!! More beautiful then I ever thought she would be too!! She rode home from WI in the trailer with her buddy, a stud colt named Junior, and a pretty little mare. Stefanie brought her home for me, safe and sound!! I am so happy. She was very freaked out when she first got here, because she was not weaned off her mom like she was supposed to be. When the other horses left, she really went nuts, even tried to jump her 6 foot stall gate almost with SUCCESS!! We had to run a strand of electric fence across the top, and she must know what the ticker of the fencer is because she never did try it again. I took her out in the later afternoon to work on a halter session with her.. she was not halter broke, or she was very stubborn. I worked with her for about an hour, and now I am proud to say she walks and trots on the lead line!! She got brushed by just about everyone I think. The boys (my bros) have taken a funny liking to her! Here are some pictures of Miss Rosey!!! Current Mood: excited | | Thursday, August 18th, 2005 | | 11:42 am |
stall is done, even the gate :)
Front View Open View Dave finished up the gate for me yesterday while I was at work. He did a great job on it, you can tell he used to build horse shelters for a living with his dad and brother :) Looks like Rosey is gonna have a buddy soon, mom is looking at a few mini's right now! Time to do another stall!! ;) Hi ho hi ho its off to work I now go! Only 2 more days til Rosey is here!! Current Mood: happy! | | Saturday, August 13th, 2005 | | 8:05 pm |
put up the pasture today
Well, at least a small one, I do not want Rosey having full run of the back field right away. I made her a small pasture, double stranded electric fence. Pretty happy with the outcome of it, looks great. Dad helped me some. Yes, the doggy will be moved in the next day or two! This time next week, I will be feeding Rosey her bedtime food and stalling her for the night. I am SO excited! Only 7 more days! I mailed the hauler out the halter and lead for Rosey's trip, and important paperwork today :) Current Mood: happy! | | Friday, August 12th, 2005 | | 6:06 pm |

Only 8 days left until Rosey comes home, I am so happy!! I am getting screwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwed on shipping... $350 plus $200 value website... paying for the whole trip uggg.. oh well, it gets my baby girl here!! Dad bought me fencing supplies today, bought 1/4 mile worth of electric fencing, plastic T-posts, and orange tape to tie on the strands to make them visible. Went and looked at a farmhouse yesterday, all set up for horses on 6.6 acres of FENCED in area.. really really want it.... trying to talk Dave into it. Would love to have Rosey at my own house. Now I can buy Rosey all sorts of toys, got a job offer today, at least a verbal one, gotta call Monday for the details $ wise to see if I can drive to Lafayette every day and still make $.... vet assistant at Petsburgh! I just wish I could work at a clinic that did horses too.... | | Tuesday, August 9th, 2005 | | 9:47 am |
countdown getting shorter
Only 11 days until Rosey arrives. Today, I have to ship her halter and lead to Stefanie for hauling her. | | Monday, August 8th, 2005 | | 8:52 pm |
bought some horsey stuff today!!!!
Today, I bought horse stuff for the first time in years!!!!! Went and glanced around SLT in Petsmart in Lafayette, they did not have any cute color weanling halters, and I did not want to pay $20 for a black one. So I went to the tack store here in Monon and they had a pretty little purple one, which is awesome because Purple is the color I wanted to use for Rosey! Then Dave and I went to Rural King, and he bought her a leadline, a hoofpick, and a brush!!! :) DANG it feels nice to shop for horse tack/stuff again!!! :) Only 12 days until Rosey is here!! Just for fun (PSP image of Rosey)
Was playing in PSP last night and came up with this, not the best, but I thought it would be neat to put it in here :) I cannot wait to get some nice quality shots of her (coming from a wanna be pro photog, Austin will get a break from tons of photos every day for a while lol) Current Mood: just mowed the lawn | | Saturday, August 6th, 2005 | | 5:58 pm |
picture of the stall
Here is a picture of the stall so far. I have to make the gate still, hope to have that up by the end of this weekend. Right now, Austin is using the stall for his 4 wheeler "garage" LOL | | Friday, August 5th, 2005 | | 9:45 pm |
Stall Day
Today, I cleaned out the right side of dads big pole barn and got it horse safe. Then, I dug a hole for a post to go down about 2 and a half feet for the stall, of course the first 8 inches of that was rock hard road gravel packed down ugggg. Oh well, it was SO worth it. It is nice to know the blistered, slivered hands, sore arms and back, filth, and sweat is worth it is the end, all for Rosey!! Dad helped me on the stall, cutting the boards and stuff. We got all but the gate up, it looks really good and I will have to post some pictures of it later. Only 15 days until Rosey is here! Current Mood: dirty and sweaty |
